This week was yet another exciting week for Q-Collar athletes! Check out some of their highlights below:
National Football League:
- Dallas Cowboys Running Back Tony Pollard rushed for 42 yards on 10 attempts and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ 27-23 victory over the Houston Texans. Pollard also caught 4 passes for 20 yards and a touchdown. Pollard’s teammate, Tight End Dalton Schultz, caught a team-high 6 passes for 87 yards in the win.
- Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Boston Scott rushed 6 times for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ 48-22 victory over the New York Giants. Scott also returned 3 kicks for 117 yards, including this 66-yard return in the win.
- Carolina Panthers Linebacker Shaq Thompson recorded a team-high 9 tackles with a half-sack in the Panthers’ 30-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
- On the opposition, Seattle Seahawks Tight End Colby Parkinson caught one pass for 10 yards in the loss.
- Los Angeles Chargers Linebacker Drue Tranquill recorded 5 tackles in the Chargers’ 23-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Tranquill’s teammate, Wide Receiver Joshua Palmer, caught 4 passes for 53 yards in the win.
NCAA Football:
- University of Texas Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was named First Team All-Big 12 Conference for his performance this season.
- Tulane University Quarterback Michael Pratt was named 2nd Team All-American Athletic Conference as well as Pro Football Network’s American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
- Baylor University Linebacker/Fullback Dillon Doyle was named 2nd Team All-Big 12 Conference and Tight End Ben Sims was named Honorable Mention on the All-Big 12 Conference Team.
- Boston College Linebacker Vinny DePalma was named Honorable Mention on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team.
- University of Nevada-Las Vegas Linebacker Austin Ajiake was named First Team All-Mountain West Conference and Quarterback Doug Brumfield was named Honorable Mention on the All-Mountain West Conference Team.
NCAA Basketball:
- University of Georgia Guard Audrey Warren and the Lady Bulldogs split their two games last week, a 65-54 loss to North Carolina State University and an 84-44 win over Mercer University. Warren recorded a season-high 18 points and 4 three-pointers, including this one from beyond the arc, against North Carolina State. Against Mercer University, Warren scored 5 points, including this lay-up to start the game.
NCAA Hockey:
- UMASS-Amherst Defenseman Elliott McDermott was collared-up in the Minutemen’s 2-1 loss to Merrimack College.
NCAA Soccer:
- University of Maryland Defender Chris Rindov and Midfielder Malcolm Johnston were selected to participate in the MLS College Showcase. Johnston and Rindov were also named as members of the United Soccer Coaches' All-Region Team, with Johnston being named to the Second Team and Rindov being named to the Third Team.
