Q-Collar Week in Review (June 26) - Q30

The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship began this week, and athletes wearing the Q-Collar shined for some of the top performing teams thus far. Check out these highlights:

World Lacrosse Men’s Championship:

Team USA:

  • Attackman Michael Sowers scored 6 goals, including this acrobatic crease dive and this snipe while being hit, and assisted on another goal in Team USA’s four games this week, all victories over Canada, Australia, Haudenosaunee and England.
  • Attackman Rob Pannell scored 5 goals across Team USA’s four games, with four of them, including this snipe while airborne, coming in their victory over England. Pannell also logged 7 assists.
  • Defenseman Jack Rowlett recovered 9 total ground balls and caused 4 total turnovers while Defenseman Jesse Bernhardt recovered 5 total ground balls and caused 7 total turnovers in the games that Bernhardt appeared in.
  • Short Stick Defensive Midfielder Jake Richard was Collared Up and contributed to Team USA’s strong defensive efforts.

Team Japan:

  • Attackman Shinya Tateishi scored 16 total goals and logged ten total assists, including this behind-the-back feed, in Team Japan’s four games this week, all victories over France, Wales, Uganda and Denmark. His teammate, Attackman Yuya Okumura, also had a huge first week with 9 total goals and 3 assists.
  • Midfielder Tomoki Umehara scored 3 total goals, including this snipe off the fake, and tallied 3 total assists while Midfielder Subaru Tokumasu scored a goal and recovered 2 total ground balls.
  • Defenseman Kiyoshi Sano recovered 1 ground ball and contributed to Japan’s strong defense all week.

MLS Soccer:

  • San Jose Earthquakes Striker Jeremy Ebobisse started and played all 90 minutes of the Earthquake’s 2-1 loss to St. Louis City SC.
  • New England Revolution Defender Omar Gonzalez subbed-in and contributed to New England’s defensive efforts in their 2-1 victory over Toronto FC.

NWSL Soccer:

  • Portland Thorns FC Defender Emily Menges started and played all 90 minutes of the Thorns’ 4-2 victory over the Washington Spirit.

MILB Baseball:

  • Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay Rays AA Affiliate) Catcher Logan Driscoll went 6 for 15 with a home run, 2 doubles including this line drive into right field and 4 runs batted in across the 4 games he appeared in, all against the Rocket City Trash Pandas (Los Angeles Angels AA Affiliate).
