G-force

G-force is both a measurement of acceleration and the force felt during acceleration. In contact sports, a hit can generate G-forces far exceeding what the human body was evolved to handle. These forces cause the brain to displace rapidly within the skull. While a helmet manages the G-force acting on the skull, it does little to stop the brain from accelerating inside.

Bottom Line: High G-force impacts lead to rapid brain displacement; the Q-Collar mitigates the resulting internal movement of the brain during these high-energy events by providing a stabilizing fluid cushion.

FAQ

High acceleration forces the brain to shift rapidly, risking tissue damage.

It doesn't stop the force, but it reduces the brain's internal movement.

There is no single threshold; hit direction and duration are also factors.
