Q-Collar Week in Review (July 3) - Q30

The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship wrapped up this week, and athletes wearing the Q-Collar shined in the tournament's biggest moments. Check out some of their highlights below:

World Lacrosse Men’s Championship:

Team USA:

  • Attackman Michael Sowers scored 6 total goals across Team USA’s 3 games this week, with two of them, including this finish off the rebound, coming in Team USA’s 10-7 victory over Team Canada in the Finals. Sowers also logged 3 assists.
  • Attackman Rob Pannell scored 3 goals, including this back-door snipe, and assisted on 5 other goals, with 2 of those assists coming in the Championship. In Team USA’s 19-3 victory over Team Israel on Tuesday, Pannell became Team USA's All-Time Points Leader!
  • Defenseman Jesse Bernhardt recovered 2 total ground balls and caused 3 total turnovers in Team USA’s three matchups, all victories over Team Israel, Team Australia, and Team Canada in the Finals. Fellow Defenseman Jack Rowlett recovered 3 total ground balls and caused 3 total turnovers.
  • Short Stick Defensive Midfielder Jake Richard caused 2 turnovers, including this nasty body-check to prevent a scoring chance, and recovered 1 ground ball in Team USA’s games.

Team Japan:

  • Attackman Shinya Tateishi scored 5 total goals, including this top-corner snipe, and logged an assist, in Team Japan’s three matchups, a pair of victories over Team Germany and Team England, and then a Quarterfinal loss to Team Haudenosaunee.
  • Midfielder Tomoki Umehara logged 3 total assists across Team Japan’s three matchups.
  • Defenseman Kiyoshi Sano recovered 2 total ground balls and caused 2 total turnovers.

MLS Soccer:

  • San Jose Earthquakes Striker Jeremy Ebobisse started and played all 90 minutes of the Earthquakes’ 2-2 draw against the LA Galaxy.
  • New England Revolution Defender Omar Gonzalez subbed-in and contributed to the Revolution’s defensive efforts in their 2-2 draw against FC Cincinnati.

NWSL Soccer:

  • Portland Thorns FC Defenders Emily Menges and Meghan Klingenberg both started and played all 90 minutes of the Thorns’ 1-0 loss to the KC Current.
  • Angel City FC Defender Megan Reid subbed in and contributed to Angel City’s defensive efforts in their 0-0 draw against Gotham FC.

MILB Baseball:

  • Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay Rays AA Affiliate) Catcher Logan Driscoll went 5 for 14 with a home run and 2 runs batted in across the four games he appeared in this week, all against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Miami Marlins AA Affiliate).
