With the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse tournaments underway, this was another action-packed week for athletes wearing the Q-Collar. Check out some of their highlights below:

NCAA Men’s Lacrosse:

  • Notre Dame Attackman Pat Kavanagh netted a hat trick, which included this snipe from deep, and logged 4 assists in the Fighting Irish’s 20-7 victory over the University of Utah in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • On the other side, University of Utah Attackman Ryan Stines scored a goal in the loss.
  • University of Maryland Faceoff Specialist Luke Wierman scored a goal, notched an assist, recovered 11 ground balls and went 18 for 35 on faceoff attempts in the Terps’ 16-15 loss to Army in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Penn State University Midfielder Mark Sickler scored a goal and recovered 4 ground balls in the Nittany Lions’ 13-12 victory over Princeton University in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Duke University Defenseman Wilson Stephenson recovered 2 ground balls and caused 2 turnovers in the Blue Devils’ 12-11 victory in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
  • Georgetown University Defenseman Will Bowen recovered 1 ground ball in the Hoyas’ 19-17 win over Yale University in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

NCAA Women’s Lacrosse:

  • University of Maryland Midfielder Shaylan Ahearn scored 2 total goals (#1 & #2), notched an assist and logged 8 total draw controls across the Terps’ two NCAA Tournament matchups, a victory over Drexel University and a loss to James Madison University. Ahearn’s teammate, Goalkeeper Emily Sterling, made 14 total saves across the two contests.
  • Syracuse University Defender Katie Goodale recovered 1 ground ball and logged 4 draw controls in the Orange’s First Round Matchup of the NCAA Tournament, a 25-8 win over Johns Hopkins University.

MLS Soccer:

  • San Jose Earthquakes Striker Jeremy Ebobisse started and played all 90 minute of the Earthquakes’ 2-1 loss to the LA Galaxy.

NWSL Soccer:

  • Portland Thorns Midfielder Rocky Rodriguez started and scored a goal in the Thorns’ 2-1 loss to the Houston Dash. Rodriguez’s teammate, Defender Meghan Klingenberg also started and contributed to the Thorn’s defensive effort in the loss.

MILB Baseball:

  • Montgomery Biscuits (Tampa Bay Rays AA Affiliate) went 5 for 21 with a home run, 1 RBI, and 3 runs scored across the 5 games he appeared in, all against the Tennessee Smokies (Chicago Cubs AA Affiliate).
